Option 1: a ticket for the cave only
You pick a date and a tour time, then turn up at the park 30 minutes before. The standard ticket covers the train, the guided walk and the Vivarium. This is the right choice if you have your own transport and only want the cave.
Option 2: the combined cave and Predjama Castle ticket
The park sells a combined ticket for Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle, which is about 9 km away. It costs less than two separate tickets. In high season it also lets you use the park's shuttle between the two, which costs a small extra fare paid in cash on the bus. For most first-time visitors, it's the better deal.
Option 3: a tour with tickets included
If you don't have a car, the hard part is the logistics: getting to Postojna, then to the castle, then back, around fixed tour times.
